Located in northeastern Virginia, approximately 75 mi (120 km) west of Washington, D.C., Winchester draws visitors who crave escape from the hustle and bustle of crowded city streets. As a town with historic significance, Winchester offers many opportunities for individuals to steep themselves in American history, including shopping in the 250-year-old district of Old Town Winchester, visiting Knowledge Point to learn about the Civil War and journeying to the nearby 19th-century manor house at Historic Long Branch.
